Location Guide

Creating art for dogs and their people in the greater Boise / Treasure Valley, ID areas
Welcome to Your Dog Portrait Session Location Guide

Every portrait session is a celebration of the bond you share with your dog — a chance to capture their spirit, quirks, and love in a way that becomes timeless artwork for your home. Choosing the right location plays a huge role in creating portraits that feel authentic, beautiful, and uniquely you.

In this guide, you’ll discover some of my favorite portrait locations across the Treasure Valley. Each setting has been thoughtfully chosen for its natural beauty, distinctive character, and ability to bring out the very best in your dog’s personality. Whether your vision leans toward lush foliage, quiet winding paths, or rustic textures, there’s a backdrop that will harmonize perfectly with the story you wish to tell.

No two sessions are alike, and the best location is the one that feels true to your story. My goal is to make this process effortless and inspiring — so all you have to do is bring your dog and your love for them, and I’ll take care of the rest.

Most locations evolve beautifully with the seasons, each offering its own distinct mood and atmosphere. As you explore this guide, you can hover over each image to see the month it was captured, and if you’d like to take in the finer details, simply click any portrait to enjoy it in a larger view.

Take your time exploring the possibilities—envision yourself and your dog in each space, and notice which setting speaks most to your heart. As you dream, consider the color palette as well. If you’re planning to display wall art in your home, choosing a location with tones that complement your décor will ensure your portraits feel seamlessly at home in your space. I can’t wait to create something beautiful and truly timeless with you.

From seasonal blooms and leafy vines to grassy areas accented with bridges, boulders, and the movement of water in the background, this location provides a variety of striking backdrops for your dog’s portraits. The blend of natural textures and urban charm creates portraits with both elegance and personality.

Because the plaza is lively and often busy with people and dogs, it’s best suited for pups who are confident and comfortable in active environments. For the right dog, it delivers portraits with an unmistakable sense of charm and energy.

Suburban settings

Nampa, ID

Sometimes the most beautiful backdrops are closer than we think — often right in and around our own neighborhoods.

Many of the suburban areas in and around Nampa are lined with lush trees, flowering bushes, and seasonal blooms that create stunning, natural settings for portraits. These spots often feature charming boulders and textured landscapes that make the perfect stage for your dog to shine as the true focus of the portrait.

Shannon was kind, caring, and made me feel so comfortable! I was IN SHOCK with how amazing the photos looked! I could look at them all day and never get bored of seeing their beauty. I'm looking forward to having lifelong memories of my best buddy, Rico. I had such a great experience working with Shannon.

Dora

We appreciated how Shannon engaged with our dog during the session; both for how it helped us and our pup feel more comfortable, and for how it helped her to find our pup's best reaction and angles. We were blown away when we saw the photos for the first time. We were amazed how well she was able to capture our dog's personality in each photo. We're looking forward to sharing the photos with our friends and family, and will certainly be recommending her services to them.

You are so cheerful and positive, and knew exactly where to find the best angles and how to grab the dogs' attention. The photos are amazing – the way the morning light hit the grass around the dogs just made everything stand out. The pictures of the ranch and the mountains are phenomenal, the chickens were fabulous, too. I was surprised by how good everything looked, especially the action shots and the group photos.
