Each season, I open a select number of sessions at hand-picked scenic locations across Idaho and the Pacific Northwest. These destinations are chosen for their light, atmosphere, and sense of place – the perfect setting for expressive, story-driven portraits.
Because your dog is more than a pet – they’re part of your story. From floppy ears and joyful zoomies to quiet moments by your side, your dog’s personality is one of a kind. This experience is designed to celebrate that spirit through a calm, thoughtfully guided process that allows your dog to explore freely while real moments unfold.

Here’s what you can expect:
The first hello
When you inquire, we’ll schedule a relaxed, no-pressure chat to dream up your session together. I’ll learn about your dog’s personality, your vision, and what kind of artwork makes your heart sing.
Planning with purpose
Before your session, we’ll plan every detail — from the perfect location to the ideal time of day and what to bring along. You’ll also receive my Session Guide filled with tips to help you feel fully prepared and excited for your session.
The portrait session
Now the magic begins. With patience, play, and plenty of treats, we’ll capture your dog’s personality as it unfolds — whether they’re energetic and adventurous or calm and soulful. My approach is relaxed, allowing for natural interaction and genuine emotion.
Artistic editing
Afterward, I hand-select and meticulously edit every image to ensure the light, tone, and color are perfect. Leashes, distractions, and handlers are removed as needed to create a clean, polished, fine art result.
The reveal & artwork selection
Two to three weeks later, you’ll enjoy a cinematic reveal of your portraits — a storytelling gallery that captures your dog’s essence. Together, we’ll design wall art, albums, or collections that reflect your home and your heart.

Frequently asked questions
My dog will never cooperate for a session.
Most dogs featured here are everyday companions. Your dog won't need to sit or stay during sessions – my fast camera can capture even the most active ones! Behavior challenges are discussed pre-session to select a suitable location for nervous or reactive dogs. If necessary, extra time is spent with your furry friend, using positive reinforcement techniques to ensure comfort with me and my camera.
What if my dog can't be off leash?
Your dog's safety is paramount during our session, ensuring a fun experience for all, especially your furry friend! I prefer to photograph pets without a collar, and provide a thin slip leash for safety (will be edited out in final images). If needed, please bring a collar and leash for additional safety measures. While leashes may be edited out, they may be necessary for certain photos. Note that harnesses won't be edited out and may distract from your dog's beauty in photos.
Can I be in the images too?
Of course! I cherish capturing the beautiful bond between you and your dog. While traditional portraits are an option, clients often adore candid moments that reflect your connection. If you're camera-shy, I can still craft creative images narrating your relationship story.
What time will our photo session be?
I schedule most sessions during the magical "golden hour," early in the morning or the last two hours of daylight for optimal lighting. We'll discuss the best location and time during the session-planning call. Sessions last 60-90 minutes, giving your dog time to acclimate to the camera and ensuring a variety of images for you to choose from.
How & when do I pay for my session?
A $500 non-refundable deposit secures your session date and is applied toward your total session investment. The remaining session balance is due on or before the day of your portrait experience. Artwork purchases may be paid in full or through flexible payment plans, available upon request with bi-weekly or monthly options. Finished artwork is produced and delivered once payment is complete. Accepted payment methods include cash, Zelle, Apple Pay, Venmo, and PayPal.
