Hi, I'm Shannon
Photographer, storyteller, lifelong animal lover
For more than 25 years, photography has been the way I make sense of connection — especially the quiet, powerful bond between animals and the people who love them. While my work has appeared on magazine covers and in print and digital campaigns around the world, what matters most to me is creating something deeply personal: artwork that honors your dog or horse exactly as they are, and what they mean to you.
Dogs and horses have shaped my life for as long as I can remember. They’ve taught me presence, patience, joy, and trust — lessons that influence every session I photograph. My work is less about perfect poses and more about preserving feeling: a glance, a moment of stillness, a burst of joy, a shared breath.
An experience built with intention
Every portrait experience I offer is thoughtfully designed and fully customized.
From destination-inspired dog sessions in beautiful, carefully chosen landscapes to calm, respectful equine portraits, my approach is unhurried and guided with care. I work with natural light, meaningful environments, and space for connection — allowing moments to unfold organically rather than forcing them into a mold.
Each image is crafted with intention, edited with a fine art eye, and delivered as part of a complete story. My goal is always the same: to create timeless artwork that feels honest, expressive, and deeply personal.

Why dogs and horses
Dogs and horses share something extraordinary — an ability to connect without words.
Dogs bring joy, loyalty, and openness into our everyday lives. Horses offer partnership, grounding, and a depth that stays with us long after we leave the barn. Though different in nature, both shape who we are and leave lasting imprints on our hearts.
Photographing them is a privilege I never take lightly.
Beyond the camera
Outside of photography, my life is full and beautifully layered.
I’m married to my childhood sweetheart — the boy who stole my heart when we were just ten years old — and together we’re navigating life with love, resilience, and gratitude. I’m also mom to an incredible daughter, a bright, talented young woman who brings so much joy into my world.
At home, I’m happily outnumbered by our Border Collies who keep life active and entertaining, and my heart is forever tied to my Arabian mare, Emma, whose presence continues to ground and inspire me.
When I’m not photographing, you’ll often find me with a cup of coffee in hand, hiking with my dogs, spending time with family, or visiting Emma — soaking up the quiet moments that make life feel rich and full.

Why I do this
Because time moves quickly.
Because seasons change.
Because the animals who shape our lives deserve to be remembered with care.
If you’re here because your dog or horse is family — a constant, a partner, a piece of your heart — I would be honored to help you preserve that story through art.
Meet the Pack
My special, wonderful, fill my heart with joy pack of puppers!

RUGBY
"Big Fluffy"
November 8, 2012 - October 13, 2025
Forever a puppy at heart, Rugby is our handsome boy who brings endless joy to everyone he meets! Despite suffering a spiral fracture in one of his hind legs as a pup, this hasn’t slowed him down one bit! Now a senior dog facing a few health challenges, Rugby still bounces around with the playful exuberance of a puppy.
With his iconic black and white super-fluff coat, Rugby turns heads wherever he goes. But it’s his pure heart, friendly spirit, and loving nature that truly steal the show! He’s a charmer through and through—always ready for belly rubs, cuddles, and a bit of silliness to brighten your day!

SNIX
"Queen of the Pack"
Snix is the true queen of our household and has got it all—wicked smarts, crazy athleticism, and a heart full of love. Whether she’s playing fetch, demolishing a stuffed toy in seconds, or running errands with me, Snix is always up to something fun!
She’s my shadow, my constant companion, and is incredibly loyal—my dream girl, beautiful inside and out! Snix absolutely adores people, especially children, and is incredible off-leash, whether we’re walking through the neighborhood or hiking on a trail. She loves visiting dog-friendly stores, but her favorite place is always right by my side, no matter where we are.
Though she’s never had a litter of her own, Snix takes her “mother hen” role seriously, watching over our pack with care. She recently celebrated her 12th birthday, but you’d never know it with her playful energy and zest for life. I love this girl to the moon and back!

TOGO
"The Golden Child"
Togo is our Covid puppy, which means he missed out on some early socialization, so we stick to outings where we’re less likely to run into other dogs outside of our pack. But if you’re lucky enough to be in Togo’s “inner circle,” get ready for endless love, affection, and cuddles!
Togo is truly one of the most stunningly beautiful dogs I’ve ever known—not just on the outside, but with a soul that shines just as bright. Affectionately known as “the golden child,” Togo has a way of charming everyone with those big ice-blue puppy dog eyes, earning him a few extra privileges around here!
Togo is especially devoted to my husband, who has some serious medical conditions; he’s always by his side, watching over him and keeping him company. Though he may not be perfect, Togo is the perfect match for us, and we wouldn’t have it any other way!

PIXEL
"Baby Doll"
We weren’t planning on a puppy, but the moment I met Pixel at just 4 weeks old (and again at 6 weeks!), she literally “picked” me! And with her dad being a littermate of our beloved Snix, it felt like fate brought her into our lives.
Pixel, affectionately known as “Baby Doll” because of her dainty, beautiful face, loves nothing more than snuggling in my lap. She’s a tummy rub enthusiast, adores being picked up and carried, and gives the sweetest little hugs! Her playful spirit and affectionate nature make her such a special girl.
In puppy class, she’s an A+ student—mastering all the basics with ease! While she prefers greeting her human friends to romping with other puppies, she’s always content to watch the chaos from the sidelines. My heart melts every time she looks at me; this pup brings so much love and joy to my world!

EMMA
Emma is my beautiful Arabian mare and a soul horse in every sense of the word. She came into my life as a foal, full of fire and spirit, and over the years, we’ve built an unbreakable bond rooted in trust, patience, and deep understanding.
"Emmie Em" my heart horse
Emma embodies everything I love about horses—her intelligence, grace, and sensitivity make her a joy to work with, and her sweet, affectionate nature always brings a smile to my face. Though she’s now living with her "Yaya Karin" receiving daily love and care, she remains an incredibly special part of my heart and my journey.
Horses have been woven into my life since childhood, and Emma has played a defining role in that passion. She reminds me every day why I fell in love with horses in the first place—their ability to teach, to heal, and to form a bond like no other.

Is this the right experience for you?
You'll feel right at home here if...

Your dog or horse isn't "just a pet" – they're family.
Their presence shapes your days, and the thought of preserving who they are right now truly matters to you.
Your camera roll is full of moments you never want to forget.
The muddy paws, the quiet glances, the everyday magic — and you’re ready to turn those fleeting moments into something lasting.

You believe their story deserves to be preserved with intention.
Not rushed. Not generic. But thoughtfully created as artwork you’ll treasure for years to come.

And if your smiling right now...
Dogs. Horses. Connection. Story.
That tells me everything I need to know.
