I create art. Digital files are also available and many clients choose to add them to their order. But at Shannon Edney Photography, my primary focus is creating tangible, beautiful artwork that will bring you joy for years to come.

Editing
I'll choose the best images from the session and apply my artistic touch. I'll remove leashes, handlers (if needed) and any distractions.

Frequently Asked Questions
My dog will never cooperate for a session.
Most dogs featured here are everyday companions. Your dog won't need to sit or stay during sessions – my fast camera can capture even the most active ones! Behavior challenges are discussed pre-session to select a suitable location for nervous or reactive dogs. If necessary, extra time is spent with your furry friend, using positive reinforcement techniques to ensure comfort with me and my camera.
What if my dog can't be off leash?
Your dog's safety is paramount during our session, ensuring a fun experience for all, especially your furry friend! I prefer to photograph pets without a collar, and provide a thin slip leash for safety (will be edited out in final images). If needed, please bring a collar and leash for additional safety measures. While leashes may be edited out, they may be necessary for certain photos. Note that harnesses won't be edited out and may distract from your dog's beauty in photos.
Can I be in the images too?
Of course! I cherish capturing the beautiful bond between you and your dog. While traditional portraits are an option, clients often adore candid moments that reflect your connection. If you're camera-shy, I can still craft creative images narrating your relationship story. If you'd like to join your dog in photos, there's an upgrade fee of $100/person (up to two people). Families (three or more people) will be directed to family portrait session options.
What time will our photo session be?
I schedule most sessions during the magical "golden hour," early in the morning or the last two hours of daylight for optimal lighting. We'll discuss the best location and time during the session-planning call. Sessions last about an hour, giving your dog time to acclimate to the camera and ensuring a variety of images for you to choose from. We typically start with action shots, followed by portrait and snuggly shots once initial energy is spent.
How do I choose a location?
It's a significant decision, but I'm here to assist with ample recommendations. In our session-planning call, we'll delve into the desired aesthetic and address any specific needs your dog may have, such as mobility challenges or anxiety. With these considerations in mind, we'll determine the ideal location for your personalized session. In case of unfavorable weather conditions, we will reschedule at no extra charge.
How & when do I pay for my session?
A 50% non-refundable deposit secures your date/time in my schedule, applied towards your session cost. The remaining balance is due on the day of your session. Payment plans are available upon request, with options for bi-weekly or monthly installments. Accepted payment methods include cash, Zelle, ApplePay, and Venmo.
